Saab AeroX Concept

Saab Aero-X is a concept car by Saab unveiled at the 2006 Salon International de l'Auto. It is powered by a 2.8 L twin-turbocharged V6 running on pure ethanol that produces 300 kW (400 hp). 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is predicted to be 4.9 and top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). It has a 7-speed manual transmission controlled by paddles on the steering wheel.Like the Saab Turbo X, the Aero-X has four wheel drive. The doors and windscreen are connected, so instead of using conventional doors or even gullwing doors, it uses a cockpit canopy where the entire top section of the car is opened. This offered the Aero X's driver full 180 degree vision, and also facilitates entry and exit from its low-slung cabin. The body is made of carbon fiber. The suspension is electronically-controlled. Even though it is a compact two-seat sports car, it has reasonable storage, as the rear features two storage facilities, with a conventional hatchback and sliding drawer underneath.
The interior offers "clean Scandinavian interior design". The car has no ordinary dials and buttons; instead, data is displayed on acrylic 'clear zones' in graphic 3D images. All interior and exterior lights utilize LEDs.

THE AMBASSADRESS OF THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE At the “Mondial de l'Automobile” (Paris Motor Show) of 2004, Venturi launched a surprising concept for its 20th anniversary: Fétish, the world’s 1st electric sports car. VM300: A NEW GENERATION OF ELECTRIC MOTORS Presented in April 2008 at the Top Marques Salon in Monaco, Venturi’s new VM300 is the most successful electric motor ever designed for this type of application.

Volkswagen Bluesport Roadster 2010

Volkswagen Unveils World Premiere of Concept BlueSport Diesel Powered Sports Car:-                      Volkswagen presented an innovative lineup of extremely economical and low emissions drive technologies at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS) earlier this year. Featured there from January 11 to 25, 2009 were the carmaker's Clean Diesel engines (TDI). Many experts consider these diesel engines to be the most advanced of our times. The reasons: high fuel efficiency and extremely low emissions combined with maximum performance. It is precisely this formula that has already won over millions of car drivers worldwide, including a growing number of people in America. For 2009, Volkswagen is starting the new year by presenting an automotive dream -- an affordable, uncommonly economical and highly agile mid-engine roadster. Its name: Concept BlueSport. Status: concept. Dynamics: pure. Fuel consumption: an average of 42 mpg / 4,3 l/100 km (combined; Highway: up to 50 mpg); less than any other sports car. Positioning: genuine, low-emissions roadster (113 g/km CO2) that makes every mile a driving experience.Behind the two sport seats of the 3.99 meter long Concept BlueSport (axle load distribution: 45:55) is an exclusively charged TDI or TSI engine that delivers dynamics -- these are high-tech engines that consume little but put out a lot. In the case of the Concept BlueSport version now being presented in the USA it is a 132 kW / 180 PS strong Clean Diesel (TDI) with common rail injection and downstream NOx storage catalytic converter. At a low 1,750 rpm -- i.e. right from the engine speed 'cellar' -- the 2.0 liter turbo engine develops its maximum torque of 350 Newton-meters. That matches the power response of an approx. 300 PS strong six-cylinder gasoline engine! A 6-speed dual clutch transmission -- the most economical and agile transmission system in the world -- transfers this power to the rear wheels. It is shifted either automatically or via shift paddles on the steering wheel. In just 6.2 seconds the sports car is moving at a speed of 60 mph (0-100 km/h: 6,6 seconds); its top speed is 140 mph (226 km/h).

Kia Optima 2011

Kia Optima (aka Magentis in some markets) is set to make its world premiere next month at the New York Auto Show 2010. The all-new Optima is longer, wider and lower, which seems to be the trend these days. Official specs will be released as we come closer to the New York Auto Show. Check out the gallery after the jump.“The next generation Optima possesses the power to surprise,” says Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Design Officer.  “It’s a car that people will simply not expect from Kia – and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve.” The all-new Optima exudes an athletic confidence from every angle and shutline – its raked roofline, the high and pronounced shoulder line of its sculpted flanks and its extended wheelbase, are complemented by boldly flared wheelarches and a shallow glasshouse that create a saloon with a muscular and self-assured stance. The striking visage of the new Optima features a new interpretation of Kia’s bold ‘tiger’ family face that’s edged by piercing projector headlamps.Longer, wider and lower than before, the Kia’s coupe-like profile is enhanced by the sweeping chrome arc that flows from the A- to C-pillar, a distinctive design mo-tif that visually lowers the car further still and enhances its cab-backwards proporti-ons.
