The most exciting concept shown at the 2009 Frankfurt auto show is an electric sports car, the Audi e-tron. Although electric, the Audi e-Tron does not compare to any other vehicle in the same category in terms of power. The Audi e-Tron is equipped with four electric motors, one for each wheel, which develop 230 kW (313 hp) and 4,500 Nm (3,319.03 lb-ft) of torque. The two seater Audi e-Tron is able to get from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, from 60 to 120 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a range of around 248 km. The top speed of the Audi e-Tron is limited to 200 km/h.To re-charge the Audi e-Tron from a house socket you need between 6 and 8 hours, while from a high voltage source only 2.5 hours are required. The Audi e-Tron is equipped with everything you would expect from a sportscar including lightweight ceramic brake discs and an electronic braking system.
